‘droneland’ is the follow up to Jim’s first CD of Drone/Dark Ambient music ’Darkside of the Drone’.
It is a recording of a dark and unforgiving world. A world of complex sonic ideas and memorizing, haunting sounds. The sounds ebb and flow, with out the constraints of rhythm or time, instead blending to make one coherent piece of ‘music’. In ‘droneland’ some sounds breathe and in some parts there is only suffocation and submission. ‘droneland is a place where you will visit once and then be drawn back time and time again.

From Jim:

‘For me the most interesting and challenging aspect of making ‘drone’ music is to actually be able to say that it is a piece of music., and not just some noises generated from a machine. When I was putting together ‘droneland’ that was my goal, to make music, albeit being on the very dark, almost experimental side. I feel like I have accomplished that, where there is a faint sounds of synthesizer running through the entire piece, but as the ‘droneland’ progresses you will here a multitude of different layered sounds swirling and hiding, then emerging for moments and then retreating back to the undercurrent of the piece. I really enjoyed layering and building ‘droneland’, I hope you will enjoy listening to it just as much.
